December 1, 2025 – Daily Recap
A slow day that still managed to stay busy
I woke up already knowing the day didn’t have much momentum behind it, and honestly, I leaned into that. Sometimes the business gives me a breather, and today I took it. Nothing dramatic, just a slower pace that gave me a chance to catch up on life a little.
Rain, Tents, and Tactical Delays
I had one pickup on the schedule, but the weather wasn’t playing along. Yesterday’s rain and today’s sunless sky meant the tent was still soaked, and with almost no tent jobs coming up, I wasn’t exactly eager to rush it.
So I played my “rain is slowing us down” card — respectfully, of course — and bought myself some flexibility. Honestly, the customer understood, and it saved me from dragging around a soggy tent for no good reason.
Family Time Before the Goodbye
Since I wasn’t out in the field, I stayed home and soaked in the last full day with my parents before they head back. It felt good to be around them without rushing out the door between jobs. Just a slow, simple day in the house with people I don’t get nearly enough time with.
Inbox Work & A Surprise Win
Even though the day was slow, the inbox wasn’t. I spent most of my time on the computer answering emails, handling a good number of client inquiries, and checking on gear I need to reorder.
I even got my monthly tasks — including the published recap — done…on the first of the month!
Somehow, in the middle of that, I landed a solid little gig for later this month. Great news — followed by the immediate realization that now I’ve got to figure out the cleanest way to fulfill it. The joys of this business… always something to puzzle out.
And that’s where the day wrapped: not busy, but steady; not chaotic, but productive enough in its own quiet way.
Until next time
