November 2025 – Monthly Recap

Slow Season Vibes... But Not That Slow

November brought that strange mix where the calendar quiets down but the workload somehow doesn’t. Volume dipped, but never enough to actually relax. Even so, the month still landed just shy of $12K, which is above the monthly target — a solid win for the start of the slow season. But we still ended the month in the red!

The Numbers: Concentrated & Seasonal

November’s revenue was heavily anchored by just a few jobs.
Roughly 70% of the dollars came from the top three events alone.

Everything else was mostly small-ticket holiday requests — one table here, four chairs there — jobs with margins too tiny to actually pursue. A lot of these technically register as “lost quotes,” but truthfully, most were politely declined.

This explains why revenue per event dipped pretty sharply. It’s not a demand problem — it’s just the nature of November in Atlanta.

Expenses & What Hit the Books

A few line items kept things interesting:

A large annual fee hit the books — tax prep, quarterly reviews, and support. The kind of expense you hate but also know you shouldn’t skip.

• Warehouse Rent

With a lighter revenue month, rent ended up around 23% of revenue, louder than usual but expected for winter months.

• Vehicle Repairs

In addition to routine maintenance, I finally replaced the side mirrors I knocked off months ago (after surviving far too long on taped-on substitutes). The shop also warned me about brakes and shocks down the road — a “future problem” kind of expense, but one worth mentioning.

A-Player Update: The Big Plot Twist

My main guy — the one who helped carry the load through the busier months — landed a new job.

Great for him.
Rough for my stress levels.

Suddenly every upcoming job required detective-level planning:
• Who’s free?
• Do I need two people?
• Can we pull this off without a scramble?

It made one thing very clear:
2026 is the year I need to hire full-time help.
No more patchwork scheduling. No more last-minute puzzles. A real commitment is coming.

The Rhythm of the Month

The pace was choppy — sprints of activity followed by pockets of quiet. But the quiet never felt like downtime.

A few notable things:

• String light rentals are taking off

One of those jobs became a top performer this month.
What started as a small, impulsive inventory buy is becoming a consistent revenue booster.

• Ads were a mixed bag

Meta ads were paused, but Yelp ads were tested.
Lots of inquiries, very few serious planners — and a whole lot of Yelp reps calling like their lives depended on it. I’m giving the test a couple more months before deciding.

• Operations were uneven

Some days felt like non-stop marathons. Others felt oddly empty. But between inquiries, inventory buys, repairs, and scheduling, November still demanded plenty of attention.

Looking Ahead: December & Its Reality Check

December is looking thin.

The goal — roughly $20K (based on doubling last year) — is ambitious, especially with what’s already on the books. There’s still hope, but it’ll require some well-timed last-minute opportunities.

Between the quieting calendar, winter prep, and the mental energy spent on replacing my A-player, it’s fair to say:
This winter has me thinking deeply about the next 90 days.

But that’s the nature of this business:
Plan hard. Adapt quick. Prepare for winter — always.

Until next time
