The Wrinkle Dilemma: When Linens Become a Logistics Nightmare - February 26, 2025

A last-minute linen mishap, a backup plan, and the never-ending fight against wrinkles.

Slow but Necessary Work

This morning was all about catching up—sorting through emails, following up on leads, and handling the less exciting but essential parts of the business. No major breakthroughs, but keeping those connections alive is key.

Linen Woes and Last-Minute Fixes

In the afternoon, I tackled inventory prep for upcoming jobs. One event specifically requested pressed linens, which put me on edge after recent complaints about wrinkles. My original plan was to subcontract to a professional linen service, but my attempt to open an account with A-1 Linens fell through when they didn’t return my call. Now, I’m back to handling it myself—steaming, folding, and transporting with extra care to avoid creases. Definitely not ideal, but we’ll make it work.

Looking Ahead

Lesson learned—plan earlier when outsourcing specialty items. For now, it’s all about damage control and hoping the client doesn’t notice a single wrinkle. Fingers crossed!
