September 30, 2025 – Daily Recap

Big margins, small doubts, and a short workday win

Another full day—this is definitely becoming a theme. I started early, juggled a couple different setups, and even managed to end the day a little earlier than usual. Not mad about it at all.

Fundraiser Card Tables
The day kicked off with a 7–8am delivery window for 30 card game tables at a fundraiser event. Honestly, this could’ve been a one-person job, but I brought someone along. Why? Because I can’t shake this mental block that showing up solo makes us look “small time.”

In my head, the nightmare scenario is me struggling with endless stairs while the client watches—and worse, offers to help. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case here. The venue was an upscale club, no one offered to help (of course), and with two of us we were in and out in 30 minutes, setup and all.

Now, the only surprise was the drive. Turns out, at 7am Atlanta traffic is already doing its thing. So instead of a breezy commute, I got a one-hour “morning meditation” behind the wheel. Despite that drive and thanks to the after-hours pickup fee, this one cleared an 80% margin—an easygoing job with a great payoff. Not your typical combination!

We did have to return later in the afternoon for pickup, but by then I knew the layout. I went solo, got it done in 45 minutes, and because the spot was close to home… I cheated and called it a day.

Family Event Pickup
Between the drop-off and pickup, I swung by to grab the tent, tables, and chairs from my wife’s family event we set up last Friday. I’d heavily discounted this one—about 75% off—so I’m not even going to run the numbers. No need to taint my spreadsheets with that. 😂

Admin & Weekend Prep
The quieter part of the day was spent catching calls, replying to emails, and planning for the weekend’s events. Nothing glamorous, but those little tasks keep the wheels moving.

All in all, the mix of a high-margin fundraiser, some family goodwill, and an early wrap-up made today feel like a win.

Until next time
