I thought today was going to be just another quiet warehouse day. But the day had a surprise waiting for me at the end — and not the good kind.

The Warehouse Shuffle
Most of my day was spent moving boxes, organizing, and making sure the next wave of events is covered. It was uneventful in the sense that nothing broke, nothing caught fire, and no clients panicked (a win in this line of work). But it was still steady work, with me switching between physical labor and customer service on the fly.

The Gut Punch
Just when I thought I could close the day with a sense of quiet accomplishment, I got hit with the worst news. My main guy — the one I was literally praising yesterday for possibly being more available — told me he found a steadier gig.

I can’t even be mad. I get it. A steady paycheck is hard to argue with. But man, the timing stings. I had just started feeling like this was the beginning of some real stability for both of us, and then… nope. Back to the drawing board.

The Bigger Picture
Losing him is a reminder of where I am in this journey. If I want to keep good people, I need to build the kind of consistency and revenue that makes it easy for them to stay. It’s not just about being a good boss; it’s about being able to back it up with something reliable.

So yeah, today was a bummer. But I’m choosing to see it as part of the ride — the tough spots that make the wins feel even sweeter when they come.
