When the nursing home calls, you answer

Last-Minute Dance Floor Win
Today was a light day overall, but it came with a nice surprise: a last-minute dance floor rental for a nursing home. I actually booked this one on Friday! Their original vendor didn’t want to leave flooring outdoors because of potential sun damage, which is a common policy. Most companies require a tent for any outdoor installs.

I’ve started pivoting around this by accepting jobs under certain conditions. For example, requiring next-day pickup at the latest. In this case, the setup was tucked between two buildings in a garden area with barely any direct sunlight. From my perspective, it shouldn’t cause damage—but we’ll see soon enough. This kind of flexibility helps keep clients happy without putting my gear at unnecessary risk. And, it has the potential to generate additional revenue.

Admin Mode Activated
The rest of the day? Classic admin grind. Sending out quotes, tweaking the website, and all the back-end work that makes the front-end look smooth. Not glamorous, but necessary.

The Clear Tent Conundrum
I also had my Google Ads guy kick off a campaign for clear tents. Honestly, they haven’t been moving much lately. They’ve been out twice all year. To shake things up, I reduced the price, started advertising, and I’ll be blasting my email list soon. If none of that works, I may need to pull them from the catalog altogether. Not the outcome I want, but no sense holding inventory that just sits there.

Until next time
