October 8, 2025 – Daily Recap

Jam-Packed and Grateful

Today was jam-packed… again. I feel like I say that every other day lately, which honestly isn’t a bad thing. Busy means business is good — even if it means I’m running around from sunrise to sunset trying to keep up.

Street Festival Setup

The day started early with a small street festival we do twice a year. This time they only needed seven pop-up tents — not as big as previous years, but still a solid gig. I decided to handle it solo to keep the margins healthy.
Everything went smoothly… until I noticed one of the tents was missing a pretty important piece. The kind of thing that makes you imagine the whole setup collapsing if the wind picks up. Thankfully, the weather held, and all went well. Came back around 4 p.m. to pick everything up, this time with help. Margin easily cleared the 80% hurdle, so I’ll call that a win.

Warehouse Grind

Between the festival drop-off and pickup, I squeezed in some much-needed warehouse time. Cleaned chairs, tried to bring some order back to the chaos, and knocked out a few admin tasks. It’s never-ending, but getting even a little progress feels like a relief.

The Case of the Missing Linens

After that, we swung by to pick up tables and chairs from an apartment complex — the same corporate booking from yesterday. Everything went fine until I realized my white linens had vanished. SMH.
Normally I’d chase it down, but those linens usually don’t survive more than one event anyway. So I let it go and moved on. The margin on this one barely cleared 70%, thanks to Atlanta traffic turning a 12-mile drive into an hour-long crawl. That city traffic tax is real.

Calling It Done

Once we got everything unloaded back at the warehouse, that was it for the day. There’s always more to do — there always is — but sometimes you just have to call it and recharge.

Until next time
