October 7, 2025 – Daily Recap

When Everything Works (Mostly)

Today was one of those rare days where almost everything actually went according to plan. I started strong, stayed on schedule, and even got a few surprise wins — but the flood of inbound requests had me wishing I had a driver so I could stay on top of messages while we’re on the road. The more I think about it, the more I realize that delayed responses are costing me potential sales.

Warehouse Reset

The day kicked off at the warehouse, unloading gear from yesterday and tackling the mountain of chairs that needed cleaning. Not only were they heading right back out, but honestly, the warehouse was looking rough. I spent some time organizing, scrubbing, and loading up the truck. Felt good to see some order coming back into the chaos.

Still Wet, Still Coming Down

First stop: picking up the 20x30 tent from that backyard wedding we left up yesterday to dry. Well… it was still wet. SMH. The sun hasn’t shown up much lately, and this thing just refused to dry out. But there was no way I was coming back again, so down it came.
Despite the extra trip, the margin on this job cleared about 80%, thanks to it being within our 20-mile “sweet spot” radius and including setup and takedown. Those little factors make a big difference.

Rush Fee Win

Next up was a quick drop-off at an apartment complex for a corporate meeting. Booked just yesterday, which meant — you guessed it — rush fees. I should come out ahead on this one once I tally everything up. Love when last-minute requests end up being profitable.

Rain Tent Prep

Last stop of the day was a site visit for a “just-in-case” rain tent we booked for an event two weeks from now. The customer agreed to pay 50% upfront for the option to decide three days before the event. This job actually came at the perfect time — I’ve been planning to invest in new pop-up tents, and this deal will helped cover that. Today was all about confirming logistics so we’re not scrambling if they decide to move forward.

Inbox Time

Back at the warehouse, I finally had a chance to catch up on all the messages and requests that came in throughout the day. It hurts to make people wait, but when you’re behind the wheel most of the day, it’s hard to keep up. That’s definitely a process I need to tighten up soon.

Until next time
