October 31, 2025 – Daily Recap

Wrapping the Month and the Workload

And just like that, the end of the month is here. Honestly, I’m a little scared to look at my books. I’m pretty sure I missed the goal — again. That would make two months in a row. Still, the day itself ran smooth, and after a long stretch of chaos, I’ll take that as a small win.

Starting Light

We had four stops today, but I expected a light load, and that’s exactly how it played out. The first stop was a quick table and chair drop-off — in the garage, just how I like it. It was one of those five-minute jobs that make you laugh when you think about the effort-to-margin ratio. SMH.

Last-Minute Flooring Save

Second stop was a last-minute flooring job under a 20x40 tent that had already been set up. This one came in late last night, and parking was nonexistent. We had to throw on the hazard lights, unload, and hustle before someone told us to move.

Megatron — our electric dolly — once again earned its keep. The planner never showed, but we stayed professional and kept her updated throughout. Done in about an hour flat. Smooth execution despite the chaos.

Inner City Delivery

Third stop, another table and chair drop-off. Easy breezy setup in the inner city, though the steep driveway tried to humble us. Luckily, Megatron makes uphill battles a non-issue. We were in and out before the caffeine from my morning coffee even wore off.

Closing It Out

Last but not least, we took down a 40-guest package we set up last Friday. It had been raining all week, so I didn’t want to take it down wet. Thankfully, the weather finally gave us a break, and the teardown was as smooth as they come.

Margins on this one weren’t great — hovering in the 65–75% range depending on how you slice it — mostly because of the distance: 25 miles and about 40 minutes each way. But honestly, I’m not complaining. As the season winds down, I’m grateful for every bit of work that keeps the trucks rolling and the numbers (somewhat) respectable.

Until next time
