I woke up knowing the forecast wasn’t in my favor — rain and wind on deck — but I had one simple mission: grab the pop-up tents we set up Friday before things got messy. It’s Sunday, which already makes it a mental hurdle, but getting ahead of the weather felt like the right call.

A Quick Win Before the Storm

Pop-up tents make me nervous on a good day, so the idea of leaving them up through bad weather wasn’t sitting right. I decided to get them down early, and I’m glad I did. It was an easy in-and-out job — super close to the warehouse, minimal setup, minimal time on site.

To make things more interesting, I brought someone along who’s studying the event rental industry. He wanted to see the ropes, and this was the perfect low-pressure opportunity. We wrapped up smoothly and even managed to beat the rain.

Margins That Make You Smile

The job wasn’t huge, but the margins were beautiful — almost 90%. Quick turnaround, light labor, close proximity… this one checked all the boxes. Sometimes, the best jobs aren’t the biggest ones — they’re the ones that remind you how efficiency pays off.

If I had to complain about anything, it’d just be that it got me out of the house on a Sunday. But hey, the peace of mind was worth it.
