Today was one of those days where I couldn’t tell if I was being productive or just orbiting my own to-do list. I sat down at the computer “for a few minutes” and somehow blinked to find the sun had moved, my coffee was cold, and I’d gone through a million browser windows full of tabs that all felt important.

The Deep Work Spiral

I spent most of the day knee-deep in optimization mode — tweaking landing pages, checking website performance, and running through profitability analyses. Every time I thought I was close to wrapping up, a new client inquiry would drop in and yank me out of the zone.

Between reconciling accounts and ordering inventory, it felt like I was juggling spreadsheets and strategy calls in an endless loop. There’s a fine line between “dialed in” and “burnout brewing,” and today I was wobbling right on it.

Breaking Out of the Screen Trap

Eventually, I had to force myself to step away from the computer before my eyes fused with the monitor. I found a solid deal on a pipe rack on Facebook Marketplace and decided it was the perfect excuse to leave the house — something about organizing gear feels like therapy for a chaotic day.

I swung by the warehouse for a quick stop that turned into a mini solo session. A little Jay-Z in the background, a pallet or two to straighten out — sometimes that physical reset is all it takes to feel back in control.
