Today was one of those behind-the-scenes days — no events, no deliveries, just me, my laptop, and a long to-do list that doesn’t make for flashy Instagram stories but keeps the business alive. I spent most of the day handling admin work and found myself thinking ahead, not just about next week, but the end of the year.

Admin Marathon Mode

No setups, no calls from venues, no chaos. Just admin. I updated our 60-guest party package page, built a new landing page for black tents (because apparently, that’s a vibe now), and paid a few bills that were glaring at me from the inbox. I also jumped on some Amazon deals for small inventory items — nothing major, but I’ll never turn down a good price drop.

Leveling Up with David Shands

Midday, I had the privilege to join an education session led by David Shands with a small group of entrepreneurs. These kinds of sessions always leave me thinking deeper about the long game. This one hit differently — it reminded me how important it is to plan ahead for those slow months.

November and December are historically our quietest stretch, but I’m setting a goal: $25K in revenue between the two. That’s double what we did last year, and I’m not just hoping for it — I’m strategizing. The big takeaway? I need to bring in more corporate clients. Our usual party crowd slows down during the holidays, but businesses are still booking year-end events. Time to start nurturing those leads now.
