I had this event sitting on my calendar for months, and I’ll admit—I built it up in my head like it was going to be a marathon. Turns out, it was more of a steady jog. One big job, all day, but everything clicked into place exactly how it should.

The Wedding in the Orchard

We set up a 15x60 tent in a public park orchard for a 200-guest wedding—tables, chairs, linens, and lighting, the whole deal. It’s one of those setups that looks simple on paper but takes up every inch of truck space in reality.

To make it work, I split the day into two runs. We installed the tents first, then circled back for tables and chairs. The A-team was with me, and they crushed it—tents were up in about two hours, lights strung, everything clean and tight.

Timing and Rehearsals

By the time we rolled back to drop off the tables and chairs, the wedding party was already in rehearsal mode. Second time this has happened to me lately. It’s not a crisis, but it’s definitely something I want to smooth out before the next one.

We don’t do a ton of weddings, but they come with their own rhythm—and I’m still learning to dance to that beat. Next week’s wedding should be a good test run for getting the timing right.
