I spent most of the day buried in QuickBooks, Gusto, and ChatGPT — and honestly, it felt good. After weeks of juggling events and family chaos, I finally caught up on all my bookkeeping, reconciled both my personal and business accounts, and even published my monthly recap. For a Saturday with the kids home, that’s a win in my book.

Balancing the Books (and the Kids)

There’s something weirdly satisfying about staring at spreadsheets and watching everything finally line up. I’ve been behind on my books longer than I’d like to admit, but today I powered through. Between snacks, sibling squabbles, and background noise, I managed to stay focused and actually finish.

Either the kids gave me a rare break — or I’ve officially mastered the art of tuning out chaos. Probably the latter.

Zero Leads, Zero Fun

While I was in full “finance mode,” the inbox stayed silent. Not a single lead came through — not even the classic “2 tables and 12 chairs” messages that usually sneak in. It’s that slow, eerie time of year when inquiries dry up, and every small biz owner starts refreshing their email a little too often.

Still, I’m taking it in stride. Days like this are perfect for backend work and tightening things up before the next busy stretch hits.
