November 6, 2025 – Daily Recap

Today felt like easing back into rhythm. I had that post-trip energy — eager to unload ideas and dive deep — but reality had other plans. Only a few stops on the schedule, some client messages to return, and a brain still catching up from the road.

Smooth Pickups, Weak Margins

The first two stops were quick chair and table pickups from private homes. We’d dropped them off last Friday before I headed to MATRA, and I’d made the “busy weekend” excuse to delay retrieval. Everything went smoothly today, no hiccups.

But as usual with the small residential orders, margins took the hit. Hovering between 40–60%, they didn’t even sniff the hurdle rate. It’s part of the game — easy work, but not the kind that moves the needle.

Campus Run and Late-Night Pickup

Next up was a college delivery. They had an army of folks waiting to help unload, so we were in and out fast. Later that night, I went back solo around 10 PM to pick everything up. The same crew was ready to jump in again, but I waved them off. No need to keep them that late — I handled it.

Margins on this one told a different story: strong, around 80–85%, padded nicely by the after-hours pickup fee. A solid reminder that sometimes timing — not volume — makes all the difference.

Family Before the Laptop

The in-between time was family time. I wanted to sit down and work — answer more emails, sketch out new ideas — but fresh off a trip, I decided to stay present instead. Sometimes the work that matters most doesn’t happen on a screen.
