Day two at MATRA was all about getting my hands dirty — or at least trying to. I spent the whole day with the Intentional team as they set up their massive X2 tent, which turned into a masterclass in tent engineering and teamwork.

The “Helping” Hand

Let’s be real: I say I was “helping,” but the crew definitely had it under control. My contribution leaned more toward curiosity than muscle — asking questions, watching techniques, and trying to absorb everything I could.

This was my first time working around a 40-wide tent. For the longest time, I figured that size wasn’t something Peachy Party ATL would touch anytime soon. But after seeing it in person, hearing the strategy behind it, and watching it all come together… I can’t lie, it sparked something. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not this year or next — but I can see it now.

Conversations That Count

Outside of the setup, I had a nonstop stream of conversations — some new connections, some familiar faces. Every chat had value, whether it was high-level business talk, product deep dives, or straight-up venting about the grind we all share. That’s what I love about these events — it’s never just about tents; it’s about the people who live and breathe this industry every day.

Tomorrow the actual show kicks off, and I’m hyped to see it all come together, even though I’ve been here the last two days!
