November 28, 2025 – Daily Recap

The cold hit hard this morning, so we started a little later than usual just to give the sun a chance to warm things up. Today was all takedowns — nothing glamorous, nothing flashy, just steady work and a reminder that margins aren’t everything, but they definitely matter.

A Smooth 60-Guest Takedown
First stop was the 60-guest package we set up on Wednesday. It took two hours to build and, no surprise, two hours to bring down. Straightforward all the way through.

Margins came in around 77%, which is right where I want them. No surprises, no stress. Just clean, efficient work to kick off the day.

The Windy 40-Guest Job
The second stop was a 40-guest package takedown from Wednesday — and the wind was not playing around today. I could tell the tent had shifted a bit, which instantly made me uneasy. This location is a repeat client, but their setup spot has always been one of those “I don’t love this” situations.

Sidewalls didn’t help either. When the breeze picks up, they act like sails, and today proved that again. We broke everything down quickly, got the tent secured, and thankfully made it through without any issues. Margins were around 71%, on the lower end but still acceptable.

A Low-Margin but Easy Pickup
Last stop of the day was picking up tables and chairs I dropped off Tuesday. I already had a feeling the margins would land in the low 60% range, and I was right. But it was close to the warehouse, and even though the chairs were stacked a little wild, the job was painless.

A quick $250 profit for something that didn’t drain time or energy? I’ll take that over zero dollars…this week!

Clocked Out With a Clean Truck and a Full Plate
Back at the warehouse, we unloaded everything and I took a few minutes to tidy up the box truck — nothing major, just cleaning up from the week’s chaos. After that, I headed home and did what any reasonable human would do the day after Thanksgiving: attacked the leftovers.
