Subtitle: A one-man takedown, surprise rain, and powering through under the weather

Running Solo
Today was meant to be straightforward: two scheduled stops, knock them out, head home. But the universe had other plans. My main guy got called in to work last minute, and after scrambling to find backup (spoiler: none showed), I faced the choice: handle it solo or push everything to tomorrow.

Thankfully, one of the customers — a 40-guest package pickup — agreed to extend until tomorrow. That left me with a solo mission: taking down two pop-up tents we’d set up Sunday.

Pop-Up Tent Takedown
Despite feeling under the weather, despite the sketchy neighborhood, despite the rain starting just as I was finishing — I got it done.

Here’s how the margins shook out:

  • Revenue: $717

  • My Profit: $584 (81.47%)

  • ARA Calculator Profit: $530 (73.93%)

  • Difference: -7.54%

Surprisingly high margins for a small pop-up tent job — even after factoring in that I worked it solo. The ARA numbers still look strong, considering the hour it took to take everything down.

Closing Thoughts
After that, I called it. No unloading the truck, no extra hustle — just admin catch-up from home and then crashing to recover.
Sometimes, you have to know when to tap out. Tomorrow’s another full day.

Until next time
