Flipping tents, dodging rain, and pushing through exhaustion

Pushing Through a Packed Sunday
I packed my Friday and Sunday so I could fully take Saturday off for family. After a day of drinks and staying up late, Sunday morning hit hard. I met up with my guy at 8:30 a.m., determined to flip as many jobs as possible before collapsing.

Flipping the First 40-Guest Package
We started by taking down a 40-guest package we’d set up on Friday. Smooth, easy takedown, and we were set to flip it later that day.

Revenue: $1,116
Profit Margin: 88%

Tables and Chairs Pickup (With a Twist)
Next, we picked up tables and chairs from a last-minute client who came back to us after another company canceled. Rush fees definitely saved the margins here.

Revenue: $497
Profit Margin: 75%

Reinstalling for the Flip
We reset the same 40-guest package for a new client. It took extra time because of muddy chairs, but overall, we kept it efficient.

Low-Margin Cocktail Table Pickup
We picked up cocktail tables from the planner who’d tried to push us on delivery pricing. As expected, this job was a margin killer.

Revenue: $340
Profit Margin: 26%

Double Pop-Up Tent Setup
We set up two 10x10 pop-up tents with tables and chairs. The hard surface underneath made staking tough, but we handled it.

Tables and Chairs Pickup (With Strong Margins)
We picked up tables and chairs from a last-minute order. Interestingly, most of the tablecloths were still in their packaging — but hey, the rush fees made the margins shine.

Revenue: $843
Profit Margin: 85%

Another 40-Guest Package Takedown
We knocked out another 40-guest package takedown from Friday’s setup. No surprises, just smooth execution.

Revenue: $857
Profit Margin: 72%

Final Stop: The Sidewall Saga
Last, we returned to the house where the client had berated us over sidewalls. No drama this time — just a quiet check-in from the man of the house, confirming everything was perfect.

Revenue: $1,409
Profit Margin: 79%

Closing Thoughts
What I thought would be a lighter day turned into a monster marathon. The weather cleared, the team pushed through, and we flipped inventory like pros. Days like this test your patience — but they also remind you why you’re in the game.

Until next time
