Frustrated, fired up, and still loading the truck

Today came with a wave of mixed emotions. Frustration, anger, disappointment — and a bit of burnout if I’m honest. It’s tough when the effort is there but the wins don’t land. That was the mood.

Last-Minute Madness, No Conversions
I’ve had plenty of leads come through over the last few days — all last-minute tent inquiries because of the rain. And I didn’t close a single one. Not one. It’s like people expect us to show up with everything at the drop of a hat and charge next to nothing for it.

I did implement a rush fee for these situations — I toggle it on and off depending on the context. I get that it turns some people off. But still… it’s maddening. You work hard to build a business with structure and standards, and people treat you like an afterthought.

Back at the Warehouse
Outside of chasing leads, I spent the day in the warehouse loading up the truck for tomorrow’s install. I finally (well, almost) logged the inventory for our outdoor flooring — which we’ll be setting up tomorrow.

Also knocked out a few small things:

  • Added more traction to the truck ramp

  • Made sure the dolly was charged and ready

Not the most exciting work, but the kind that quietly makes tomorrow smoother.

Until next time
