A tough install, a last-minute change, and why the right tools (and help) matter

Kicking Myself (Again) at the Warehouse
Started the morning unpacking yesterday’s jobs. I always regret leaving the truck packed overnight, but sometimes I’m just too beat to deal with it when we get back. Yesterday was one of those days.
Early Delivery That Wasn’t in the Plan
First job: six cafe tables and 40 chairs. The client called yesterday asking if we could deliver earlier, and since it was only 20 minutes away, I made it work. It wasn’t in the direction of the next stop, so it didn’t add much to the day.
Quick Pit Stop for Quotes & Prep
Headed back to the warehouse to knock out some quotes, follow-ups, and get everything loaded for the next job.
A Dance Floor Disaster
Second job: an 18x18 white dance floor. Installed on carpet. Huge mistake. Our snap-lock flooring wasn’t suited for it, and I spent 2.5 hours hammering it into place with a rubber mallet. Absolutely brutal. Kicking myself for not bringing a helper and for not investing in better flooring.
On the bright side, I unlocked a new venue. Small win.
By the time I finished, I couldn’t even fathom fighting rush hour back to the warehouse. Parked the truck on the street and called it a day. Some battles aren’t worth fighting.
— That’s a wrap.
