Back to business after a brunch-induced blackout

After a sangria-induced holiday shutdown on Sunday, I came into Monday ready to make up for it… or at least attempt to. The day started in the usual black hole that is “admin time” — a place where paying bills, ordering supplies, and checking stats somehow eats up half the day before you even notice. Still, necessary evil.

Warehouse Work Kicks In (Eventually)

By the time I made it to the warehouse, it was later than I’d planned, but still productive. The surprise? The guy who picked up tables late Friday had already returned everything — stacked neatly and in great condition. Small win.

Quick Look at the Numbers

Here’s the job breakdown:

Total Job Cost

Profit ($)

Profit Margin (%)

$135

$232

63.25%

Technically, this job didn’t cost me much — no labor or truck transport — but I added in a cost line for driving to the warehouse myself (including the part where I forgot my keys and had to double back). That said, my formula assumes box truck costs, so the real margin is likely better than shown.

Cleanup & Closeout

After putting away the tables, I unloaded and cleaned the dance floor from Saturday’s rainy wedding. Wet shoes leave their mark, even indoors. Got it all dried, organized, and racked. That wrapped the day.

Until next time
