Final Stretch on the 20x30
The only job on the agenda today was taking down the 20x30 tent we installed last Thursday. We kicked things off at 10am—late enough to avoid morning dew, but early enough to hopefully dodge the full heat. Spoiler: the sun did not get the memo. At least the top was dry.

Interestingly, the breakdown took just as long as the install, which is rare. But we were able to pull it off without using tent jacks—another small win. Because of the heat, I bumped my guy’s rate by 20%. Gotta keep your people happy! This was a last-minute job, so despite only needing him for one short task each day, I still had to pay his full rate. Thankfully, with rush and portage fees, we still pulled off an ~88% actual profit margin.

Warehouse Energy Shift
After unloading the truck, I caught a second wind and decided to reorganize a bit. The warehouse had other plans. The forklift ran out of juice mid-momentum. I took that as a divine sign from the tent gods to wrap up and head home. Closed out the day by handling emails, training a new AI chatbot, and prepping for what's next.

Landlord Talk & Rent Reality
Had a real conversation with my landlord today. We had an arrangement that allowed me to grow into this warehouse space—ramp up rent month by month until I hit a certain threshold. The idea was that my revenue would eventually catch up. Spoiler: it hasn’t. But I’m so grateful to have found this space and made that arrangement.

Rent is now sitting at about ~14% of revenue when I look at the last 12 months. That’s obviously not going to be sustainable. Our deal is coming to an end, and I’ve got a tough decision ahead. Hoping we can come to a new agreement.
