Small wins, surprise bookings, and the cycle continues
I went into today thinking it would be one of those “fake productive” days, and honestly, it kind of started that way. Admin work at home, clicking around, moving things that don’t feel heavy but still need to get done. But somewhere between annoyance and momentum, the day quietly turned into a win.
A Small Website Win That Felt Big
I finally made a small but meaningful change to how the website looks on mobile. The folks at Goodshuffle sent over a snippet of code that lets products display two per row instead of one. This has been a pet peeve of mine for way too long, so seeing it fixed felt oddly satisfying. Nothing flashy, just cleaner, more functional, and one less thing bugging me in the back of my head.
Low Expectations, High Surprise
By lunchtime, I was out the door for a quick site visit. I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much. I went in with pretty low expectations, assuming it would be a quick look and a polite “we’ll let you know.”
Well… plot twist. The client booked with us.
Which is great. Truly. Love that. But it also means I now have to buy more stuff. Again. The never-ending cycle of growth: book the job, celebrate for five seconds, then immediately think about inventory and spending money. Rinse and repeat.
Home Depot and a Finished Floor
After that, I made a Home Depot run to grab some nuts and bolts so I could finally finish up the flooring project. Once I got back, I knocked it out.
The floor is now bolted, off the ground, and properly stored on the racks. It feels good knowing it’s secure, organized, and ready for the next use instead of sitting half-finished and mildly annoying me every time I walk by.
Warehouse Mode to Close It Out
The rest of the day was spent in the warehouse. Just general organization, moving things where they actually belong, and trying to create a little more breathing room.
In between that, I was fielding calls and putting together quotes, bouncing back and forth between physical work and mental work. One of those days where you’re constantly switching gears, but somehow it all still moves forward.
All in all, a surprisingly productive little day. Sometimes that’s all you can ask for.
Until next time
