January 6, 2026 – Daily Recap
Admin days still count
I spent the entire day tied to my computer, and there was no real way around it. I had plans to get out, hit Home Depot, and knock out some warehouse work, but the day had other ideas. It wasn’t exciting, but it was necessary.
An All-Admin Day I Couldn’t Escape
From morning to evening, it was nothing but admin. Submitting quotes, answering emails, reviewing insurance information—every task led straight to another one. Each time I thought I was close to stepping away, something else came up that needed immediate attention.
It’s the kind of work that doesn’t feel productive in the moment because you’re not physically moving anything forward. But ignoring it would’ve just created bigger problems down the line. The computer won today, and honestly, it had to.
December Recap and Accountability
The one thing I’m really glad I got done was my December recap. For me, that process isn’t just about hitting publish on a blog post. It’s about forcing myself to sit down with the data and look at the reality of the business—something that’s easy to avoid by claiming I’m too busy.
That review time creates accountability. It shows me where my time actually went and what the numbers are really saying. It’s not always comfortable, but it’s important. Today wasn’t about visible progress—it was about doing the work that keeps everything else honest.
Tomorrow’s another day, and I’ll pick back up where today left off.
Until next time
