Stepping back to see the board
Today was another long stretch in front of the computer, buried in landing pages and trying to make sense of the bigger picture. It wasn’t exciting work, but it felt necessary — one of those days where clarity matters more than momentum.
Creating Breathing Room
The only decision from yesterday that had an immediate impact was pausing Google ads, and I’m still not fully convinced it was the right move. Spring isn’t far off, and timing matters. But I needed space to clearly see where the money is going and how it’s actually being used. Spending without clarity was starting to feel heavier than the risk of slowing things down.
Fun fact, I believe 2025 was the first year that I let ads run all year. I’ve been advertising from day 1 with low budgets. But I would always pause them when it got cold. I even remember pausing them during the busy season once because I was so overwhelmed (back when I had the luxury of having a job).
Trusting the Long Game
With so much time going into landing pages and organic optimization, I’m hoping this is one of those moments where the payoff comes later. We’re almost five years in, and that history should start working in our favor. For now, it’s all still TBD — but the focus today was on tightening things up and trusting that the groundwork will eventually show up where it counts.
Until next time
