This weekend felt like it was supposed to be something dramatic, and instead it was just… still. I went into it wildly unprepared, but also completely resigned to the fact that I wasn’t going anywhere. It ended up being quiet, cold, and strangely consuming in its own way.

Winter Warnings and Staying Put

We were under all kinds of winter warning threats heading into the weekend. Even though I didn’t really prepare for it, I knew pretty quickly that leaving the house wasn’t happening. In the end, it was mostly cold weather and a few flurries. Nothing stuck. No chaos. Just enough to justify staying inside and canceling any thought of movement.

A Weekend Glued to the Chair

I spent most of the weekend parked in my computer chair. If it weren’t for the little humans running around here who occasionally need to be fed, it probably would’ve been a full-on marathon. I wasn’t even doing anything productive in a traditional sense. Truly nothing. One of those stretches where you look up, realize it’s bedtime, and can’t point to a single concrete accomplishment. The time just… went.

A Corporate Inquiry Sparks a Shift

Late Friday evening, I got an inquiry from a repeat corporate client. That alone was enough to shift my entire Saturday. It sent me straight down a rabbit hole, reevaluating what my corporate rental offers actually look like. I found myself wanting more of those requests and trying to understand what would need to change for that to happen.

West Coast Conversations and Deeper Spirals

At some point, I managed to carve out time to network with a peer on the West Coast. That was genuinely a great and productive use of time. Naturally, that conversation sent me down another deep rabbit hole—this time around our pole tent offerings. I tried to stop there. I really did.

But before fixing that, it felt obvious that I needed to revisit our wedding offers, since they’re likely the biggest consumer of that product anyway. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was fully in the upside down, jumping between ideas and offerings without really coming up for air.

Surfacing Just in Time

I eventually pulled myself out at a decent hour on Sunday night. Not triumphant, not resolved—just aware enough to shut it down and get some sleep. Sometimes that’s the win.
