Today felt strangely aligned and slightly frustrating at the same time. One of those days where momentum shows up, but not without reminding me there’s still work to do on my end. Exciting, grounding, and a little pressurized all at once.

A Potential Hire That Just Made Sense

I met with a potential hire today, and honestly, it couldn’t have gone better. It felt like one of those moments where the universe bends a little to meet you halfway — or however that saying goes. The fit was almost too perfect.

Young, strong, personable. On top of that, genuinely talented in videography and social media. Exactly what I need right now, and not in a vague “someday” way, but in a very immediate, practical sense. I walked away energized and excited, hoping that came through clearly on my end.

Now the ball’s back in my court. I need to figure out what I need to do to make this work — structurally, financially, and mentally. The opportunity feels real, which makes the responsibility feel real too.

Balancing the Day-to-Day

After that meeting, the day settled into a mix of problem-solving and maintenance mode. Helping customers, putting out small fires, and squeezing in warehouse organization where I could. Nothing flashy, just the kind of work that keeps things moving forward even when it’s not obvious from the outside.

Those in-between tasks always have a way of stacking up, especially when you’re trying to stay lean and flexible. It’s manageable — until it isn’t.

A Missed Opportunity and a Wake-Up Call

I ended up losing a fairly sizable job with a film production today. Timing just wasn’t going to work because of some scheduled time off. It’s one of the real downsides of operating this lean — there’s no buffer when capacity and opportunity collide.

Losing that job stung, but more than that, it clarified something. This was the push I needed to speed up my hiring timeline. I originally planned to bring someone on in March, but waiting suddenly feels like the bigger risk.

It’s time to get it done.

Until next time
