January 21, 2026 – Daily Recap
A quiet house, a scattered brain, and a lot of backend work
Today was a true off-season day, and honestly, it was blissful. The kids were in school, my wife was in the office, and I had the house to myself. One of those rare days where there was no pressure to be anywhere else.
An Off-Season Rhythm
I spent the day bouncing between tasks, which is pretty much how I operate best. I’ve probably got some flavor of ADHD, because sitting still on one thing for too long just doesn’t work for me. I need to move around mentally, switch gears, and take frequent breaks to stay productive.
That’s exactly how the day played out. Nothing rigid. Just doing stuff as it came to me, circling back when needed, and letting the day breathe a bit.
Building and Tweaking Behind the Scenes
The biggest chunk of the day went into spinning up a new website. Most of my time was spent working with AI, refining things and setting up the plumbing behind it all. Not the flashy front-end stuff, but the unsexy details that actually matter.
I focused on making sure everything was structured properly, searchable, and set up in a way that Google can actually find it. A lot of small decisions, a lot of tweaking, and a lot of quiet progress.
It was one of those days where it might not look like much from the outside, but a ton got done under the hood.

Until next time
