January 20, 2026 – Daily Recap
A quiet Tuesday, a long drive, and a lot of chair math
Today was simple. One job on the calendar and plenty of time to be in the warehouse afterward.
A Solo Dance Floor Setup
The only job on the agenda was setting up a dance floor for a movie production set. It was a solo mission. And, unfortunately I had to carry each panel in one by one. That part I definitely didn’t factor into the original quote, but it was manageable and didn’t turn into a headache. It was just part of my workout this morning!
The setup itself was a 15x15 and went mostly smoothly. From arrival to wrap, I was all in for about an hour. No surprises, no curveballs, just straightforward work that got done cleanly.
The only real downside was the drive. About an hour each way, which I already knew would chip away at the margins. Still, with no other meaningful jobs on the schedule and it being a quiet Tuesday, I wasn’t complaining. Sometimes the simplicity is worth it.
Warehouse Time and Chair Requests
The rest of the day was spent back at the warehouse. Nothing glamorous — fielding questions, organizing things, and tightening up areas that had started to feel a little loose. I even met up with a peer that needed some concrete ballasts. It was one of those days where being present mattered more than checking off tasks.
The clear theme of the day ended up being Chiavari chairs. Over 200 black Chiavari chairs were requested, which is not nothing for me right now. By the end of the day, it was obvious this wasn’t a one-off ask.
It got me thinking seriously about inventory again. I’m probably going to have to make the investment in more chairs sooner rather than later. It feels like one of those moments where demand is tapping me on the shoulder and asking what I’m going to do about it.
Here we grow again?
Until next time
