January 15, 2026 – Daily Recap
Progress, people, and a near-missed delivery
The day felt like a bit of everything, which honestly tracks with how this business usually moves. I started in my head, moved into conversation, and ended up sprinting to make sure nothing literally drove away without us. One of those days where nothing explodes, but everything demands attention.
Building for the Friction Points
I kicked things off in full development mode. I was focused on finding a solution that integrates with Goodshuffle for those clients who absolutely refuse to build a wishlist. I’m trying to solve for that friction instead of fighting it every time it comes up. If I can make the process easier for them and us, that’s a long-term win.
This kind of work isn’t flashy, but it’s necessary. These are the tweaks that quietly make the business run smoother over time.
Three Hours of Industry Truth-Telling
After that, it was straight into networking mode. I jumped on a three-hour call with other industry peers, and it ended up being incredibly valuable. No pitching, no posturing — just sharing best practices, stories, and the stuff you only talk about with people who actually get it.
Warehouse Reality Check
The day wrapped at the warehouse, where I was waiting on a chair delivery for an upcoming event. I was already on edge because delivery drivers love to show up whenever they feel like it, and sure enough, there was no call ahead.
I almost missed them entirely, which would’ve been a nightmare. Luckily, someone was available to accept the delivery. Crisis avoided, but still frustrating. It’s one of those reminders that logistics will always test your patience, no matter how prepared you think you are.
All in all, a mixed bag — progress, connection, and a little chaos to keep things interesting.
Until next time
