I’ve Officially Reached Guru Status
Please respect my journey (and my invoice)
Big news, everyone.
I’ve officially reached guru status.
For the uninitiated, there is an actual Guru Status Committee.
Very exclusive.
Very official.
And after doubling my business every year for the past five years, your boy finally got the call.
Honestly, that’s basically divine confirmation.
So in the spirit of generosity…
and absolutely not ego…
I’m starting a mentor group.
The investment?
$444,444
(interest-free Afterpay accepted, obviously)
If your first question is, “What’s included?”
…that’s exactly why you’re still stuck.
Wrong question.
Ask not what I can do for you.
Ask what you can do for the industry.
That’s the mindset shift.
Because you always get back 3x what you put out into the world.
At least that’s what people say right before selling a course.
Okay. Obviously I’m Playing.
Mostly.
But here’s the part that’s actually real.
I have been asked once or twice about mentorship.
Which is flattering.
And also mildly terrifying.
Because the truth is…
I’m barely making a living doing this thing.
And I don’t exactly know what I’m doing.
If I’m a guru, the bar is on the floor.
Like… warehouse floor.
Why I’ve Been Writing All This Stuff Anyway
I’ve been publishing this blog daily(-ish) for about a year now.
Only a handful of people read it.
Which is fine — because if I’m being honest, I was writing it for me.
Well… kind of.
The original plan was to sell this business.
Fast.
I came in thinking:
“Two years. Build something clean. Hand the keys to the next guy.”
LOL.
So I started writing to the future owner.
Explaining what I was doing.
Why I made certain calls.
What worked.
What absolutely did not.
Somewhere along the way, it turned into a journal.
And yeah — if you’ve consumed even five minutes of business or self-content, you’ve heard how journaling is good for you.
But journaling in public?
That hits different.
It forced me to slow down.
Actually think things through.
Commit to thoughts instead of vibes.
And weirdly enough…
I even met one or two people IRL.
For my fellow elders (myself included):
that means in real life.
Why This Might Be the End (Maybe)
Here’s the part I didn’t expect.
I think this blog might be coming to an end soon.
And I’m conflicted.
On one hand, there’s still so much ahead that I’d want to document.
I’m planning on hiring my first W-2 employee, which honestly terrifies me.
I don’t even know why. It just does.
I’m also planning on making money this year.
Not life changing money. But some actual money to live.
No more ramen-only budget optimization.
And here’s the weird thing…
It’s easy to talk openly about finances when you’re struggling.
When you’re in the poor house, transparency feels noble.
But climbing out?
That feels vulnerable in a different way.
If I did exactly what I did in 2025, considering the inventory that I’ve accumulated so far, I probably would’ve built a decent little lifestyle business for myself for the next year or two.
And honestly, that’s a real world scenario for 2026!
I’d be tired as hell.
Annoyed during peak season.
But I’d have a little change in my pocket.
Im very cautious about the growth and opportunities I chase in this industry.
It’s a slippery slope and things can start to get out of hand quickly.
Lately though… things are starting to feel repetitive.
Less necessary.
Maybe that means the writing did its job.
Or maybe I’m just bored.
We’ll see what the next month or two bring
before busy season hits
and reality punches me in the face again.
No big lesson here.
No mastermind link.
No invoice attached.
Just a guy in the tent and event rental business
thinking out loud
before the trucks start rolling again.
Until next time
