Back from vacation and back in the game

After what felt like a month-long world tour (okay, two vacations back-to-back, but still), I was back in the warehouse grind today. Dropped the kids off at school, hopped straight into truck prep mode, and honestly… it felt good to get moving again.

Warming Up with a Quick Drop
First stop was a small table-and-chair drop-off at a garage. Nothing major, probably not paying for my next vacation, but it was a nice low-stakes way to ease back into event day mode.

The 15x15 Curveball
Second job of the day was a 15x15 tent setup, with tables and chairs— and I’ll admit, I was a little tense walking into it. We had some last-minute miscommunication, and to make things spicier, we arrived before their gardener. The homeowner’s face said exactly how they felt about that.

To make matters more interesting, I forgot to confirm the exact tent placement ahead of time. The prime spot was on a concrete pad, which would’ve meant concrete anchors we didn’t have. So we shifted over a few feet to anchor properly. Not ideal, but it worked — and in just over an hour, we were done.

Warehouse Reset & Brain Food
Back at the warehouse, I unboxed and planned for a string light install we’ve got in a couple weeks. Then I tuned into some virtual sessions from the Podcast Summit. One talk dove into using ManyChat to gather leads from Instagram and Facebook — something I’ve known about but never seriously considered. The presenter made a solid case for it, so it’s now firmly on my “look into” list.

Also sent a few follow-up emails to try and stir up some business, plus tackled some general warehouse organization. You know, the glamorous stuff.

Until next time
