I woke up feeling clear-headed and ready to keep things simple. The day didn’t ask for anything dramatic, just steady movement and follow-through. Those are usually the ones that end up feeling the best.
Breaking Down the Pop-Up
I had one stop on the schedule today: picking up the pop-up tent we set up on Friday. Since it was a small job, I decided to handle it solo instead of rolling out extra labor.
Everything came down smoothly and got packed away without any hiccups. From arrival to finish, the whole thing took about an hour, which felt right for the scope of the work. No rushing, no wasted motion.
From a numbers standpoint, the job landed at roughly a 75% margin. For a small winter job, that’s exactly the kind of efficiency I like to see—clean, contained, and worth the time.
An Unexpected Delivery and a Timely Exit
When I got back to the warehouse, I found a delivery waiting for me from Fred’s. I was under the impression it wasn’t arriving until later in the week, so seeing it there definitely shifted the mental plan for the next day.
I moved a few things around to make space and did just enough to keep things orderly without diving into a full unload. Tomorrow’s problem, officially identified.
I was trying to get home in time for a scheduled call with my peer group, so once the essentials were handled, I headed out. I made it back in time to take the call from my desktop instead of scrambling from somewhere else.
The call itself was productive and energizing, which felt like a solid way to close out the day. Between a profitable job, a surprise delivery accounted for, and a good conversation to wrap things up, it all clicked into place without feeling forced.
Until next time
