The day felt lighter than I expected, in a good way. I wasn’t chasing anything big, just staying active and useful. Those are usually the days that quietly move things forward.
Back in Networking Mode
After dropping the kids off at school, I went straight to a small networking event nearby. I went in with very low expectations. It was a free event run by a business association in a neighboring small city, so I assumed it would be lightly attended and fairly casual.
Instead, it was packed. Way more people than I anticipated, and honestly better attended than some of the paid events I’ve been to recently. The energy was good, conversations were easy, and it felt like people were actually there to connect rather than just show up.
That alone made the morning feel like a win. It was a clear reminder that I need to lean further into this organization. There’s something working there, and it showed.
Organizing the Linen Reality
After that, I made a Home Depot run to pick up shelving. Linen has officially become its own thing. I’m dealing with more and more yellow totes full of it, and the current setup just isn’t cutting it anymore.
I spent time at the warehouse putting the shelving together in between taking calls and answering client questions. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was necessary. Every tote has a purpose, and getting them organized feels like one of those unsexy moves that saves time later.
A Solid Off-Season Pace
Overall, it was a nice, productive off-season day. Nothing overwhelming, nothing chaotic. Just steady progress, good conversations, and getting a few loose ends under control.
Until next time
