December 28, 2025 – Daily Recap
Productive... technically. Focused? Not even close
I spent today knowing — deep down — that I was pouring energy into things that wouldn’t move the needle. And yet, I couldn’t stop myself. It was one of those days where logic took the back seat and curiosity grabbed the wheel.
Chasing a Page That Barely Breathes
Somehow, I stumbled onto a random round table landing page. Twenty-six page views this year. Twenty-six. That should’ve been my cue to close the tab and move on with my life.
Instead, I leaned all the way in.
The page was bare, and that bothered me more than it should have. So I updated it. Tweaked it. Cleaned it up. Made it better for… basically no one. I knew the entire time that this wasn’t a needle-mover, but once I noticed it, I couldn’t unsee it.
The Linen Spiral (Why Am I Like This?)
Then things got worse.
I somehow found myself deep inside GoodShuffle updating linens. A sick amount of time, honestly. And the kicker? I don’t even like linens. I have zero plans to expand that category right now. No big push. No strategy. Nothing.
So why was I doing it?
I kept asking myself that as I adjusted quantities and details like it was mission-critical work. It absolutely wasn’t. This was pure distraction dressed up as productivity.
Last-Minute NYE Save
The real win of the day came late.
I landed a last-minute New Year’s Eve booking. At first, they wanted tents and the whole shabang — big setup, big expectations. Eventually, it pared down to cocktail tables and bar stools only.
Huge difference in scope, but honestly? I’m grateful.
It’s a clean, manageable gig, and I’ll take that all day. Sometimes the smaller version of a job is exactly what you need — especially on a day where you already gave too much energy to things that didn’t deserve it.
Until next time
