December 22, 2025 – Daily Recap

Productive on paper, drained in reality

Today was one of those days that should’ve felt better than it did. We got things done and made smart moves, but by the end of it I was completely wiped. Somehow productive and unsatisfying at the same time.

Warehouse to Takedown Mode

We started the morning at the warehouse, knocking out some overdue organization. Unboxing gear, getting things up and out of the way, just clearing mental and physical clutter. We only had one job on the schedule, so I used my warehouse guy for a bit longer to make the most of the time.

From there, we headed to take down the 20x30 tent we’d set up Friday—the one on the steep driveway. Thankfully, takedown was smooth. No customers around, no obstacles, no stress. Margins landed around 67%, which isn’t great. I’d extended a discount on this one knowing work would be slow around now, and that prediction was right. Still, it stings seeing it hit the numbers, even when it’s intentional.

Small Wins, Low Battery

After the tent, we returned some sub-rented tables. While we were there, I realized tomorrow’s drop-off was only three minutes away. I reached out to the customer to see if they wanted delivery today instead, and they agreed. That little win alone saved me time and energy tomorrow.

Once we got back to the warehouse and unloaded the truck, I was done. Energy completely gone. The day wasn’t a failure by any stretch, but it took more out of me than it gave back. One of those days where you make the right decisions, but your body still calls it early.

Until next time
