December 21, 2025 – Daily Recap
Long hours, low signal, one clear takeaway
Looking back, I don’t know how my wife and kids let me get away with this, but I spent basically the entire day in front of a computer. It was nonstop and mentally draining, yet somehow didn’t feel very productive. One of those days where you’re exhausted but not satisfied.
Fourteen Hours of Busy Work
I had to have logged close to fourteen hours staring at a screen today. Fixing code I don’t fully understand, tweaking landing pages, shopping for insurance, checking web traffic—just a constant stream of tasks that all felt necessary in the moment but pointless in hindsight.
None of it was particularly meaningful work. It was maintenance. Cleanup. Keeping things from breaking. The kind of stuff that eats an entire day if you let it, and today I definitely let it.
By the end of it, I felt fried. Not because anything was hard, but because everything required attention. Too many tabs open, too many small decisions, and not enough real progress to show for it.
The One Thing That Actually Mattered
The saving grace of the day was spending some time tightening up my stage offering. That work felt different. Focused. Intentional.
After the last staging job, I can clearly see the potential in this type of product. It’s starting to click how this could become something scalable instead of just another service I offer occasionally.
I didn’t spend nearly enough time on it today, but it was the only part of the day that felt like forward motion. And that alone made the grind a little easier to swallow.
Until next time
