A scramble of a day that still managed to move things forward
Today felt like a scramble, even though it ended up being pretty productive. One of those days where nothing feels clean or finished, but progress still happens. Not always pretty, but necessary.
Inbox Battles and Mental Clarity
The morning was all admin and computer work. I needed to clear my inbox to get a little breathing room and some clarity. I made a decent dent in it, but it definitely felt like I was clearing things just to make room for more to show up.
That’s always the trap — you knock things out and immediately replace them with new tasks. Still, getting eyes on everything helped reset my brain.
Warehouse Time
I rolled into the warehouse in the early afternoon. I had a pickup scheduled later in the day, but figured I’d get ahead while I had the chance. Unboxed some items, pulled equipment for events coming up tomorrow and through the weekend, and generally tried to set Future Me up for success.
Nothing glamorous, but the kind of behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything from falling apart later.
Back to Hogwarts
By 4 o’clock, I headed out to pick up the 40 card tables we dropped off yesterday at “Hogwarts.” The pickup was relatively painless, which is always a win.
Even better, the margins held above 70%. That’s always nice to see, especially on simple orders. Part of that came from the rush fee, and part of it was me choosing to handle the pickup solo to keep costs down.
Simple jobs that quietly clear the hurdle are some of the most satisfying ones.
Until next time
