December 13–15, 2025 – Catch Up Daily Recap

Coming back from vacation straight into ringing phones and reality

I just got back from Turks and Caicos, and I was more ready to get back to work than I expected. Saturday and Sunday are usually off days anyway, but mentally I was already checking in. By Monday, the phone made sure I didn’t ease back in at all.

Vacation Mode Meets Reality

Even while I was away, the business didn’t fully let me unplug. The phone started ringing, and with every call I couldn’t answer, the FOMO crept right back in. I did manage to snag a last-minute booking for a school while I was still away, and it was immediately clear they were pretty desperate.

That desperation quickly turned into what felt like borderline harassment. The amount of calls coming in from this customer was wild.

To make it even better, I was on mobile, on a slow network, trying to get through customs. I couldn’t figure out how to make the changes she needed fast enough, and between the spotty service and my apparently aging tech skills, it was chaos. Meanwhile, they were absolutely blowing me up while I was just trying to re-enter the country. Not exactly the smoothest transition back to reality.

Missed Chances and Mental Notes

A few other opportunities slipped away during that window too. That part always stings, especially when you know demand is there but you’re just not fully available to grab it.

Still, it was a solid reminder of how fast things move and how unforgiving timing can be in this business. Being “mostly available” is basically the same as not available at all.

Tomorrow, I’m officially back full time. No airport Wi-Fi, no customs lines, no half-working phone. Just me, the business, and keeping this train moving.

Until next time
