Vacation mode... with a side of FOMO
Today was a true day off in Turks and Caicos. No work, no setups, no running around — just being away and enjoying it. That part felt great and very needed.
When FOMO Sneaks In
Even on a no-work day, a few last-minute calls came in for events happening this weekend, and of course they weren’t small (to me). One request was for a dance floor and around 30 tables — the kind of order that immediately grabs my attention.
It sounded like another company had cancelled on them, and with no time left, I probably would’ve gotten the booking if I were in town. That’s where the FOMO showed up. Not because I wanted to work, but because the opportunity was sitting right there.
In the end, I let it go. I’m on vacation for a reason, and today wasn’t about squeezing in one more win. Some opportunities you miss, even good ones — and that’s part of stepping away too.
Until next time
