Booked, Broke, and Building — One Day at a Time - March 21, 2025

The Wild Ride of Managing Inventory, Hustling Admin, and Networking for Growth

Hey Future Owner,

Juggling Inventory, Deliveries, and Networking — Just Another Day

Today was one of those “solve one problem, three more pop up” kind of days. Most of my energy went toward tackling inventory issues—specifically figuring out how I’m going to cover upcoming events. Naturally, I doubled down and committed to yet another event...for inventory I don’t technically have yet. So yeah, more money out the door. Ugh.

Small Win: Easy Delivery (Plus Free Labor)

Mid-morning, I hit the warehouse to grab a small table and chair order. Delivery was smooth—super easy. The homeowner even came out to help. Normally, I’d decline, but this time… I accepted. Why? Because stairs. There’s still no graceful way to explain, “Hey, stairs cost extra” without sounding like a jerk. So, no stairs were climbed, and the drop-off was done.

Back to the Admin Grind

After that, it was back to the “office” (aka home) for more admin work and—you guessed it—problem-solving. At this rate, I’m becoming a professional fire-putter-outer.

Networking Moves in Duluth

Closed the day at a networking event in Duluth. Collected a stack of business cards and a head full of new info. Starting to see familiar faces at these events now, which I’m taking as a good sign—staying top of mind matters.

Two standout connections:

  • A planner I’d love to build a deeper relationship with. That feels like a solid growth move.

  • A videographer who dropped some great business advice based on his own journey. Definitely hoping to stay connected.

Closing Thoughts:
Today was a mixed bag—some spending, some wins, and a lot of groundwork laid for future connections. If nothing else, it’s proof that showing up consistently is half the battle.

Catch you tomorrow…
