Balancing festivals, tents, and credit cards

Invest Fest Wrap-Up
Today was the final day of Invest Fest, and I can confidently say I did better than yesterday. Still, it felt like the extrovert in me decided to hit snooze. I wasn’t standoffish, but I also wasn’t going out of my way to make new connections. Sometimes you just have to let yourself hang back and absorb instead of pushing full throttle.

My one big takeaway came from a business credit presentation. I snagged a screenshot of banks offering solid balance transfer deals. That’s clutch since I’ve got a credit card bill coming due in November, and I’ll definitely be shopping around for the best move.

An Early Exit
I ended up leaving Invest Fest a little early because duty called — our tent setup at a university needed to be broken down. This was a last-minute job we pulled off Friday, complete with concrete blocks, rush fees, and after-hours charges.

The best part? Margins came in just north of 80%. That’s the kind of number that makes the scramble worthwhile. Sometimes the least expected jobs end up being the most profitable, and this one definitely earned a gold star.

Big Picture
If I’m honest, today was a weird mix of being “on” and “off.” I didn’t network like crazy, but I still picked up something useful. I left a bit early, but it was to take care of a job that turned out to be highly profitable. So, all in all, a solid win.

Until next time
