August 12, 2025 – Daily Recap

Warehouse Morning Hustle
I rolled straight from school drop-off to the warehouse, coffee still in hand and no time to waste. First mission: lay out yesterday’s soggy tent to dry. I usually dodge this chore, but the thought of mold and mildew setting in had me acting like a tent EMT.

The only problem? The sun apparently took the day off, and the forecast was threatening rain. I stretched that thing out anyway, hoping the clouds would at least feel guilty enough to hold back for a few hours.

Bye-Bye, Wooden Tables
Mid-morning, my Facebook Marketplace contact swung by to grab four old wood tables. This marks the beginning of my official breakup with wood. I’ve got three more rounds to sell, then it’s on to the rectangle ones.

The “OG” event pros swear by wood, but I can’t get with it. They’re heavy, they’re high-maintenance, and if a customer leaves them in the rain, suddenly I’m the Table Police. No thanks. Maybe when my customer base changes!

String Light Progress
Finally—after what felt like weeks—I finished unboxing every single piece for next week’s big string light event. Tomorrow I’ll start making the strands, which is the fun part. Today was just box after box after box.

From Warehouse to Desk Work
A little after noon, I traded the warehouse grind for the home office grind. Paid my monthly state taxes (always a joy), answered calls and emails, had a quick chat with the Goodshuffle crew, and even made some website tweaks. I even went on an afternoon walk around the neighborhood! Something I hadn’t done in months.

Nothing flashy, but one of those days where you can close your laptop and actually feel like you earned the evening.

But of course, some leads came in during the evening hours, and you know I couldn’t let those sit overnight!
