April 30, 2025 - Daily Recap

Rain, referrals, and a to-do list that refused to end

Some days, the plan goes out the window — and today was one of those days. I had every intention of heading to the warehouse in the afternoon, but admin work had other plans. I couldn’t peel myself away from the computer.

Admin Overload
Today was admin, all day. I had a solid plan: knock out a few tasks from home, swing by the warehouse, and time it perfectly so I could pick up the kids right after. Instead, I got sucked into the digital quicksand of backend to-dos and never made it out the door.

Weather Watch and Web Traffic
Apparently, there’s rain coming this weekend — and now the folks who didn’t plan ahead are scrambling. In the midst of that, I saw a 20% bump in web traffic, directly tied to turning Google Ads back on. No mystery there — all other sources held steady. The ads are definitely doing their job.

One Sale, But Not Nothing
Only one lonely sale came through today, and it was thanks to a referral from one of the bigger companies who ran out of capacity. It’s not a flood of bookings, but I’ve still got a few lines in the water. The fight’s not over.

Wedding Planning Call
I spent a good chunk of time on the phone with a planner today who's organizing a wedding for next April. Nothing booked yet, but a solid conversation and a good connection — exactly the kind of seeds I want to be planting now.

Until next time
