April 26–27, 2025 - Weekend Recap
Weekend hustle, new pages, and small moves toward bigger goals
Family life doesn’t exactly clock out on weekends — and neither does the business brain. I couldn’t document everything in real time, but here’s a look back at what got done over a packed couple of days.
Weekend Hustle: Birthday Parties and Business Cards
Saturday was mostly a family day, bouncing from birthday party to birthday party. But every conversation was a chance to network. I kept talking about the business — because honestly, I always should be. I’m counting it as time worked.
Sunday Morning Grind and a New Kids Party Page
Sunday started early. After a conversation on Saturday, I created a landing page for kids' party rentals. It’s mostly a research play for now, but it feels promising. There's only one main player in the area, and they’re a bit outside Atlanta. Definitely some white space to explore.
If you have a minute, I’d love your feedback on the new page:

Pushing TV Rentals
Now that the 55" TV and stand are in inventory, it’s time to get them moving. I built a dedicated landing page for TV and TV stand rentals — and wrote a blog post to help capture search traffic. No sense letting them sit idle.
Lighting Rentals Get a Spotlight
I also made our lighting rentals page more prominent on the site. I’m starting to notice an appetite for string light rentals alone — no tents attached. That tells me it’s worth making it easier for clients to book string lights as a standalone service.
Tuning Up the Corporate Rentals Page
While I was in web editing mode, I took the time to tighten up the corporate rentals page too. I was learning a lot working with ChatGPT, trying to optimize the other landing pages for SEO. Plus, I needed to add our TV rentals and stands to the corporate page — that’s definitely the right audience for those items. There’s still room for improvement, but it’s already better than before.
Pricing Tweaks on Party Packages
I've been thinking hard about removing discounts from our party packages. For now, I’m leaving the standard package (with black chairs) alone. But for the alternative package, I switched to pricing it based on the individual components. If prices change, the package price will automatically adjust too. It’s a subtle nudge to make the standard package look like the smarter deal.
Until next time
